happy friday everyone!  we made it through (grin).  i definitely had some ups and downs this week so i’m looking forward to the weekend…i’m traveling to visit some friends for some much needed girl time!  how about you – i love hearing what your plans are, so let me know!

and if you have time…make sure you check out my post today over at makeunder my life…i’m hoping you guys will be with me because this is definitely getting me outside my comfort zone!!  i have a new mantra though…you can read about it in the post!

remember as a kid being crazy for candy?  (okay, that’s actually me to this day!!)  remember rock candy?  or those necklaces made of candy?  or ring pops?  i thought it would be fun to revisit those childhood memories.

so this week’s shake it up idea should be easy for all of us!

find your favorite candy from childhood…and enjoy!

and let me know…what is your favorite candy from childhood?

the lovely, dreamy images above are from lola’s room photography - i just adore her work!!  make sure to check out all of her images…they’re just gorgeous and takes you away to another time!

  1. ah this is (literally) sweet. i wish you good luck finding your favorite. when i was a kid i loved kinder surprise eggs (and still love ‘em) AND gummi bear things that were really really sour. i remember one day when i bought me a bag of those sour tongues (that was the name) and left them in my room. my mom came in, saw the bag and grabbed one of those. i will never forget the face she made. hilarious.
will check out your post on saturday. can’t wait.
    have fun, honey.

  2. Thank you so much for featuring my work on your lovely blog!
My favourites sweets were bon bons, particularly strawberry or lemon. They are very nostalgic for me.
    Have a fun weekend!

  3. oh i loved and still love gummi bears!! i love that you like sour things :) the face people make is so fun to watch!!

  4. Oh, yes, I’m with you :) bon bons of any kind…mmmm :) !! of course, i have a bad sweet tooth!

  5. Hi Piper,

Growing up in Belgium, we used to eat the most amazing chocolate caramel called Chokotoff and I guess the closest American candy would be a Riesen! As the ad says, “there’s always a reason for a Riesen!” Thanks for stopping by The Buzz and introducing yourself!

  6. I wasn’t a huge candy eater in childhood – mainly I just liked to collect it (I’m more of a cookie kind of girl). I guess some things never change….

  7. I think I was a big chocolate and cookie eater as a child which I never grew out of. Does anyone ever grow out of chocolates and cookies?

  8. Oh I’m having a huge candy craving now!! My favorite candy from childhood were the little gummy coke bottles. Of course by “from childhood” I mean right now! I never got over candy and I don’t think I ever will. I go for all things gummy and fruity, my husband prefers chocolate which is nice because then I don’t have to share my Sour Patch Kids at the movie theatre! =)

  9. I love that we all have different things that we like as far as candy!! (sadly I pretty much like anything sweet – although I’m still a chocolate gal).

And chocolate with nuts – YES.

  10. gummy coke bottles – I remember those!! And I know – I’m the same, I’m still into candy :) reading everyone’s comments is now making me crave candy!

  11. Get me to a candy store — STAT! Oddly, one of my favorite candies growing up were those colored sugar buttons that you ate off the strip of paper, typically consuming chunks of paper with it at times. I have no idea why.

LOVED your first post as the Dream Reporter. I really can’t wait to read more.

    Have a wonderful weekend, Piper!

  12. Beautiful pics! I used to love (and still do) Reese Peanut Butter Cups and then those pixie sticks that you could just dump all that sugar straight in your mouth. Oh and those Fun Dips (again pure sugar!) that you dipped that candy stick in and licked off the sugar. Do you see the pattern? ;-) I can’t do the pure sugar anymore!! ;-) Have fun at your girls weekend!!

  13. Very dreamy pictures!

I always loved Kit Kats, but then I stopped liking them, and now I like them in smaller amounts. Isn’t it funny how taste buds change? I also loved (love) those nerd sticks!

  14. Reese Peanut Butter cups are my absolute fave now!! There’s just nothing better. (and I forgot about pixie sticks & fun dips…yes, loved those because of course they were pure sugar :) !!

  15. I loved kit kats too…and then they came out with the Kit Kat big bar…oh, that is so good :)

  16. Just read your “About Me” and see that you are have (or hoping to) have a boutique. I used to own a woman’s clothing boutique for about 8 years and if you ever have any questions please don’t hesitate to ask. I love seeing people create their dreams!
