Ah, Paris. The first stop on our honeymoon had to be Paris. We booked our trip and set off to the City of Lights at the end of April 2012.  Our goal for our entire trip was simple – to enjoy just “being” in Europe. No itineraries, no pre-purchased museum tickets – just open days for embracing the city.

Paris was the perfect spot for this. We strolled through the streets, walked along the winding Siene, discovered sweet patisseries and cheese shops, talked with the locals, ate incredible meals that ranged from fancy sit down dinners to walking while eating a croissant.

Paris is so magical that it sweeps you along with it. The city, the architecture, the history, the romance, the flowers – all inspired me. One afternoon, we ended up in a large park full of flowers. We strolled through the grounds and it was quiet and peaceful even steps from the bustling city streets. We stumbled upon a gorgeous peony section – as my favorite flower – I was thrilled.

For me, I love exploring cities and neighborhoods for inspiration in my home. The lines and colors are often reinterpreted in my own space. (I am now on a big green kick after enjoying all the plants and leaves.) And you don’t have to fly to Paris to get this inspiration (Although I say go for it if you can :) Step outside your door and enjoy your own home, neighborhood and style.
