// french art

today’s pairing is inspired by the featured pop-up shopkeep, modern pixie!!  click here to read all about judy, the designer behind modern pixie.  she’s actually a fellow clevelander (go cleveland! :) and a funny, charming gal to boot!  she recently left her job and is now pouring her heart & soul into her shop, modern pixie.  she created the paris polka-dot necklace exclusively for the paris pop-up shop – it has that feel of an awesome flea market find.  so let’s cheer her on!

and i don’t know about you, but i’ve always dreamed of spending a good week wandering through the louvre!  i’ve never been but that’s definitely on my own bucket list!  to see the mona lisa??  must.go.soon!

//i swear i didn’t plan it!

you all know i’m an uber tennis fan, so how cool/awesome/perfect timing is it that the french open just started!

coincidence??  um, yes, actually!

i swear, i didn’t realize that i would have the paris pop-up shop going at the same time as the french open!  but do you ever notice how your mind picks up on these things?  ever since i launched the paris shop, no matter where i go or what i read, i keep seeing french sayings, words and paris images!!  i think the universe is trying to tell me something.

oh and guess what i did this weekend??  I DID IT!!  i actually made the star light royale cocktail i shared last week!!  (i’m ridiculously bad about actually trying and/or making these things – i think i just like the “idea” sometimes!)

we made up a pitcher for our friends and the word was that it was like “summer in a glass” (ok, i may have been the one to say that…doesn’t mean it’s not true though :) !

{i’ll take swimming}

given a choice…i’d pick swimming every time.  i was an avid swimmer in my youth and kind of rediscovered my love for it over the past year.  it’s amazing how helpful it’s been in keeping me sane while trying to get this business off the ground – i call it my moving meditation!  how about you guys – given a choice would you choose walking or swimming?

thought i’d kick off the week with a quote that’s been sticking with me – especially for those of us that get analysis paralysis (this is actually a term – who knew?!)  taking action and making a decision is always better than doing nothing.  and this is a cool reminder that even bad choices can bring about being in the right place at the right time!

{photos, photos}

we’re swimming in photos!  we spent the weekend decluttering the basement (this is mostly because to get to our laundry room, you’d have to find the one pathway through boxes & mayhem)  we ended up bringing up boxes & boxes of photos – many of them loose – and makes me wonder what i should do with them all.

i always love how displaying photos like this looks – in theory.  the question i always have…would it be cool in real life or just look like a crazy person’s manifesto?
