inspired by {lucky number slevin}

70s wallpaper

morning!  gotta say it was a whirlwind weekend!  marcus’s cousin got married on saturday in a lovely, outdoor spring wedding (albeit slightly chilly!)  you know you’re in for a good time when the groom does some karoke on the dance floor!

and then the big news came – i’m an “aunt”!!  ok, so not technically, but when you’re an only child, you take these “aunt” opportunities when you can get them!  we traveled down to columbus yesterday to meet the little guy – he’s just beautiful!

and somehow we squeezed in time to watch lucky number slevin again.  have you ever seen it?  if not, run, don’t walk, to your nearest video store and grab it – not only is it a great thriller with twists & turns but it’s the wallpaper that takes the cake!  every time i see it, i just get mesmerized by the wallpaper!  cool, retro, 70′s style patterns that look modern.  i seriously need to wallpaper a room already!!

{sneak peek and shake it up!}

shanna murray wall decals

happy friday everyone!  i can’t believe september is almost over – where is this year going??you’ll be happy to know that i survived my first week of working from home – i even managed to get dressed every day – i know, impressive, right?  besides the errant bird that somehow made it’s way into our house and had me shrieking like i was being chased by jason (a quick phone call to my hubby was not the way to go – he was not down with my plan of just moving and letting the bird have the house), i have to say working from home is pretty cool.  that is until the paychecks stop coming in.  but let’s not think about that yet!

instead let’s talk sneak peek!  here’s another look at what i’ll be carrying in the shop!!  i know most of you have come across shanna murray’s vintage meets modern wall decals – when i saw them, i just fell in love.  they’re so modern and fresh yet vintage feeling too – and of course the decals on the chalkboard paint makes me want to paint every room in the house with it!!

so inspired by shanna murray’s decal notes, this week’s shake it up idea is to:

leave a note for a loved one to find

hope you all have a wonderful weekend – any good plans?

my wallpaper obsession continues!!  how gorgeous and modern and colorful are these wallpapers from given campbell?  they would look so great in a hallway or a small powder room.  i love the look of cool, graphic design wallpaper in a small space – it just makes that space pop.  i’ve been wanting to wallpaper our hall – but since we plan on selling our place at some point, i think i may have to wait. bummer!

they even have these wonderful patterns based on popular family pets.  50% of net sales go to animal rescue charities.  (i seriously have to have the labrador wallpaper!!)

{harmonie-interieure wall decals}

i don’t know what i love more…the fresh way harmonie-interieure has designed their wall decals or the incredibly gorgeous styling?  it’s vintage feeling, yet modern too…and even the imperfections to the paint stripes are so cool.  i just love the idea of the “it’s a beautiful day” decal in the bedroom…or maybe it needs to be in my kitchen since i dread cleaning (grin)!

{wallpaper from the 70′s}

i’m such a “big picture” type person.  i love coming up with ideas…not necessarily executing them!  for instance, we’ve been renovating our kitchen and now we’re down to all the detail work…tiling, patching, installing baseboards…boring.  in my head, i’ve already moved on to another room (which is probably why our kitchen isn’t done yet…urgh!).  i’m putting together pictures to show you of the before and after of our kitchen so stay tuned!

since i’ve moved on(!), i’m thinking it would be cool to wallpaper the inside of our front hall closet or even our hallway.  i’m so inspired by the retro yet completely modern wallpapers from wallpaper from the 70′s. i picked up lots of ideas from their gallery of pictures. (btw, i love how the first picture has 2 different wallpapers…what fun!). which ones do you guys like?

oh, and check back tomorrow for my etsy find + seek post!wallpaper4wallpaper5
