// what’s your favorite flavor?

so today’s post is inspired by the adorably cool ice cream spoons from sucre shop!  make sure to read about brooke and check out her other spoons – her colorful, fun designs seriously make me want to have an ice cream party every week!  (and really who says i can’t?? :)

this is also the perfect time to share some paris stories that you guys have shared with me.  it was funny to see that a lot of the stories revolved around trips to berthillon!!

cathy from fiscally chic shared one with me.  she said that one of the places she insisted on visiting in paris was berthillon – she wanted to try out this world famous ice cream!  while she & her mom enjoyed their yummy raspberry (framboise) & chocolate (chocolat) ice cream respectively, her sister was more adventurous.  and the result??

“We for sure remembered my sister’s order!  My sister ordered the black currant (cassis), and wasn’t expecting such a strong flavor. I think all of the flavors are probably good, people just need to be warned that they’re very intense, and maybe not sugary sweet like in the States!”

that’s so true, isn’t it?  marcus & i had similar experiences with food in australia – different countries, different tastes!  she wrote a great post here about her visit to paris – lots of great photos to check out!

so back to my question…what’s your favorite flavor??  (if i HAD to choose…i’d go with any ice cream that had chocolate & peanut butter!)

{i want to go to there}

happy friday everyone!!  i hope you’re getting as nice of weather as we’re having right now…hello early spring!!  this warm weather is making me want to grab some ice cream.  this cute gelato place opened up near us and i’m thinking it’s high time we checked it out (any excuse to satisfy my sweet tooth!)

it made me think of this too cool for school gelato place i came across online recently.  yep, i want to go to there!

{makes me want to get married…again}

happy monday everyone!  did you have a good weekend?  we ended up taking our tree down…sigh.  hello, cold, gray january! once the holidays are over, i’m ready for spring :)

i spent some time this weekend looking and searching for new products for the store.  one of the artists i already stock – keep calm gallery – has come out with these awesomely cool his + her tea towels that make me want to get married…again. (they’ll soon be on the store site!)  which got me thinking how often this happens to me!  i come across some gorgeous flowers or beautiful letterpress invites and it makes me want to plan another wedding since i had so much fun the first time around – plus, without gushing too much (oh, who am i kidding…i’m gushing!!), it was the best, most beautiful day of my life.

(one of these days i’ll have to share that day with you guys – but this would require me to get all our wedding photos scanned – yeah, it was awhile ago!  and while we’re talking,  i feel that it should be acceptable in society to keep having weddings every 5 years or so – who’s with me?!)

hope you enjoy this collection of items & images that makes me want to head down the aisle again…

{wake up and smell the coffee}

morning ritual

happy friday!  thought i’d kick off the weekend with a jolt of java.  my hot beverage of choice.  there’s something so comforting about starting off my morning with a cup of coffee.  it’s partly the ritual – coming down the stairs to the smell of freshly brewed coffee (trust me – it’s not a pretty sight when there isn’t any brewed!), pouring that first cup (unfortunately, mine looks nothing like the above pic – 1/2 the time it’s poured into some random mug!!) and taking that first sip.  don’t even get me started on one of my fave activities – grabbing some joe at a coffee shop (again it’s that ritual – people watching, reading, sipping – so relaxing!)

so the question is – how do you start off your morning?

p.s. i have a guest post over at space for inspiration today – would love if you checked it out!

{shake it up – guilty pleasures!}

i feel like my friday posts lately keep showing pictures of dessert!  but what better guilty pleasure is there than a full piece of red velvet cake with yummy cream cheese frosting. (one of mine!)  talk about feeling guilty afterwards!

i have to say, though, that i’m in the camp that believes that there’s nothing wrong with guilty pleasures – if you enjoy it, who cares!  be loud and proud about it!  who cares that i have a jordan knight cd?  that song rocked when it came out (grin)!

so this week’s shake it up adventure is to:

indulge in a guilty pleasure

i’m thinking we can all get on board with this challenge!

and of course i must know – what are some of your guilty pleasures?

happy friday – have a wonderful weekend!

{shake it up – s’mores challenge!}

happy friday – we made it!!  so i was going to cheat and have this shake it up be “sleep outside”…but since i had already planned on going camping i guess that’s not quite the spirit!  so in the words of emeril lagasse “i’m kickin’ it up a notch”!!

this weekend’s shake it up adventure:

s’more’s challenge!

we go camping every year with my best friend and her husband…and i don’t know if it’s the fresh air or a few drinks, but more often than not we end up just being silly around the campfire.  one year we had an iron chef style marshmallow challenge – who could roast the best one?  one year i brought ghost stories that i must have printed from a child’s website because they were more ridiculous than scary.

so this year the challenge is to see who can create the yummiest s’more!  i’m bringing peanut butter cups, nutella, peanut m&m’s and of course chocolate.

any other ideas?  hope you all have a great weekend!  mine at the very least will be yummy!

what else can i say other than these are just about the cutest chocolates i’ve come across!!  aren’t they perfect for fall?  (and this is coming from someone who dreads fall because it means summer is over!)
