so the big question is…have you started your holiday shopping yet?  just like alot of people, i’ll be starting mine right after thanksgiving (i say, year after year, that i’m going to start early…and without fail, i’m always shopping last minute!  although it is a bit easier now that i have my own store!)

my friend shannon, owner of stash style,  invited me to a sneak peek of her pop up shop happening this weekend.  so i grabbed a few friends (the lovely sharon & michelle !) and we headed over on monday to shop early and see the early stages of set up! shannon is so creative and always styles her pop up shops to make them feel warm, inviting & a bit like a treasure hunt!

so if you happen to be in the cleveland area, make sure to stop by her shop this weekend (fri-sun).  to make things even more fun, she hooked up with cosmic collectibles and they’re offering a fun deal!  if you bring a receipt from one store, you can get 20% off the other one!!

you guys know i love a good idea!  well, ally at from the right bank came up with a great one!!  you can “shop her studio” where she’ll have a rotating selection of original art & one-of-a-kind antiques.  i know what i’ve got my eye on (the palm tree prints!)  how about you – what catches your eye?

i’m too excited to hold it in anymore (hmm, maybe that’s not the best way to put that!!)…i’ve been hinting at a big EVENT kicking off on 11/1 at OSR.  well, ok, so i’m not spilling the beans just yet :)  but the photo below is a little tease…

sign up for the OSR newsletter – they’ll be getting all the goodies & info first!

{stash style barn sale}

cool modern gifts

phew, the weekend went fast!  actually the whole week did (probably since hubby was on vacation)  now that he’s back to work, i can get some work done!  (i’m sure he doesn’t see it this way :)

so this past week we’ve been in a thrifting mood.  it started last weekend when we popped over to stash style’s first barn sale. (and ended this past thursday with hitting the garage sales – let’s just say that day was not the bounty we were hoping for – when one of your big “finds” is the grill daddy i think it’s game over – gotta love how hit or miss garage sales can be!)

“hit or miss” is definitely not a problem you’ll have with stash style – it’s all “hit”!  stash, owned by the lovely shannon, just recently closed it’s boutique doors and will now be doing monthly barn sales.  this first one did not disappoint – so many hidden treasures, cool items (both new and vintage) and the styling…oh the styling!

already looking forward to the next one in june  - who’s coming with me?!

splendid willow avenue carries these lovely, vibrant boots by scandinavian designer ilse jacobsen, as well as, her beautiful soft shell raincoats.  i think you’ll be asking the same thing i am – which color should i get??!

shanna murray wall decals

happy friday everyone!  i can’t believe september is almost over – where is this year going??you’ll be happy to know that i survived my first week of working from home – i even managed to get dressed every day – i know, impressive, right?  besides the errant bird that somehow made it’s way into our house and had me shrieking like i was being chased by jason (a quick phone call to my hubby was not the way to go – he was not down with my plan of just moving and letting the bird have the house), i have to say working from home is pretty cool.  that is until the paychecks stop coming in.  but let’s not think about that yet!

instead let’s talk sneak peek!  here’s another look at what i’ll be carrying in the shop!!  i know most of you have come across shanna murray’s vintage meets modern wall decals – when i saw them, i just fell in love.  they’re so modern and fresh yet vintage feeling too – and of course the decals on the chalkboard paint makes me want to paint every room in the house with it!!

so inspired by shanna murray’s decal notes, this week’s shake it up idea is to:

leave a note for a loved one to find

hope you all have a wonderful weekend – any good plans?

{shop crush – the sunday times market}

okay, i know i just posted an item from this shop but it’s official…i’m smitten.  imagine bella and edward looking at each other…that was me and the sunday times market store yesterday.  i swear, i must have had a strange expression on my face when i first stumbled upon the store yesterday and then proceeded to stare dreamily at item after item!

the sunday times market is run by a husband and wife team (too cool!) who have the best eye for mid-century finds.  their store is filled with cool vintage items that all look stunning together…complete eye candy!

i love mixing old with new…it gives a room such a personalized and warm feeling.  since i tend though to gravitate towards modern pieces, it’s exciting when i come across vintage items that have a modern feel.  which is why i instantly fell in love with davidmetnicole

this sydney, australia based retail store (i’m so sad we didn’t come across it while we were there!!) sources beautiful vintage (& new) pieces from around the world.  the leather chair is now on my “wish list”!

{boutique love – sorting with style}

sorting1

home office organization seems to be mission impossible for me.  our desk is in the far reaches of our house and, therefore, has yet to see someone sit at it.  but, i guess it’s not all bad –  it has become the perfect spot for everything that needs to be filed/sorted/stored/or forgotten about!

so, needless to say, it’s been a goal of mine to get my desk in shape and have it actually feel inspiring (rather than a lackluster dumping ground!).

enter sorting with style!  it’s a one-stop online shop for stylish office organization.  sayeh pezeshki, who launched sorting with style, also runs a daily blog called the office stylist with great advice on office organization + information on chic office supplies.

i think the above items would be a great start for transforming my home office!

what desk items do you feel are essential to keeping yourself organized or inspired?
