Hi everyone, Kellie here from 74 Lime Lane, where we are shivering at the other end of earth with chilly foggy mornings and snow on the mountains.

Although I can’t complain, I’ll take winter over summer any year, I love the crisp, cool days when the sun actually comes out but I also love rainy days where you have an excuse just to say inside and watch movies, I love warming cups of tea and hearty stews, I love scarves and snuggly blankets.

These are a few things I love this winter: my scarf from uimi; cooking hearty winter fare in cookware like this; enjoying winter photography like that of Jennifer Squires; drinking cups of delectable teas from joie de tea; and I need a new umbrella for the rainy days like one from gina and may.

thanks kellie for putting together such a beautiful & soothing collection!   we’ll see you next month!

Hi everyone, Kellie here, from 74 Lime Lane, guesting posting from the chilly confines of the southern hemisphere while Piper enjoys a summer vacation.

While Piper was away, I thought I would hijack her blog to highlight some of the great Australian talent that you can find at the click of your mouse. Piper is a huge fan of our sunburnt plains, so I’m sure she won’t mind.

Being at the other end of the world, so to speak, Aussie indie designers can often find it hard, making their way in the online marketplace. Currency, and shipping costs, for starters, are often against us, which is why I want to give some of my favourites a bit of a shout out across the seas.

[From left to right, starting in the top left: Lots of cute paper goodies by Helena at Little Mo and Friends; artworks and jewellery by Deb at Two Cheeky Monkeys; beautiful art by Belinda of gretchenmist; fantastic jewellery designs by Jess at Epheriell; make your bunting panels and hand screen-printed goodness by Nic at Yardage Design; lovely illustrations and goodies by Penny at Pocket Carnival]

This is by far a very small list. You can find more Australian designers and artists on madeit ~ a dedicated Australian handmade market place ~ and by searching for the DUST team on Etsy or at the DUST website. You can also see some Australian creatives I have featured in my weekly lime light section here.

{aus to us…color your day!}

Hi everyone, Kellie here again from 74 Lime Lane and this month we are talking colour. And it would come as no surprise that my favourite colour is lime green. I have lots of shades of lime green in my home ~ I drink my tea out of a Pantone lime mug, my favourite pashmina {a present from Hubby} is lime green, we have a couple of lime green walls and even our dining chairs are lime. So here’s some more lime green finds I would add to my wishlist.

Clockwise from top left:
white filigree and flower ring from Just Be Creative; lime green lanter from Pier 1 Imports; coffee rings cushion from Erin Flett {thanks Piper!}; carved melamine glass from Smug; Pantone Matryoshka from Yar Rassadin; Agapanthus card from Blush.

thanks kellie for putting together a beautiful, vibrant (and colorful) collection!   i’m pretty much drooling over all these great things - especially that ring!!

{aus to us…mother’s day gift guide part 3}

welcome to the first in a monthly collaboration between me, and kellie from 74 lime lane. with mother’s day just around the corner, we are kicking off with some ideas for mum, or perhaps yourself.

Hi again, Kellie from 74 Lime Lane with some more gift ideas for mother’s day, this time for the book and movie lovers in your life. The good thing about bookworms and film fanatics is there is always something you can buy for them, the new release from their favourite author, movie tickets, or their favourite film on DVD. Or perhaps something a little different like these.
