{happy holidays!!}

thanks everyone for all the wonderful birthday wishes this week!! i’m still smiling! (don’t you wish you could have a “birthday” day every week – especially the eating cake part – mmm)

i hope all your stockings are hung, trees trimmed & halls decked so you can relax & enjoy all the festivities! i’m off to bake cookies today with my mother-in-law (family receipe for kolachkes…yum, yum!!)

it literally took over 100 photos to get 1 good shot of our dogs for this photo! we kept throwing stockings, a santa hat, a santa toy to burnsey to just get him to catch it and have it in his mouth (mind you, every day he does this just for fun!!) well, apparently when you put a camera in the mix, he clams up…so this is what kept happening…they’re lucky they’re so darn cute!!

happy friday everyone!! is december flying by or what?? i don’t know about you, but i’m just getting started on gift shopping (although, i have to admit, it does make it fun & easy to just shop my shop!) how about you…are you just getting started too or have you finished shopping? and go ahead make me envious…do you have your decorations up already? (we’re getting our tree this weekend – yay!)

{rue magazine mention & update}

christmas came early for me – what a treat to see the wine label tote bag in the new rue magazine holiday issue!! (pg. 16) i actually found out via a tweet from cailin of a white picket fence – gotta love social media, right?! so it was a fun surprise! and then whoo-ee…they quickly sold out!

but the good news is that i’m working with the artist to get them back in stock. she should be sending them out to me on friday so i hope to have them back in stock by next week – hopefully in enough time for the holidays if you’re giving them for gifts!

in the meantime, i’ve got the matching print to the tote bag! it’s a wine medley!

you guys know i love a good idea! well, ally at from the right bank came up with a great one!! you can “shop her studio” where she’ll have a rotating selection of original art & one-of-a-kind antiques. i know what i’ve got my eye on (the palm tree prints!) how about you – what catches your eye?

i’m going mad for plaid right now (seriously, how fun is that picture of the bike with the plaid throws??!) even my hubby is sitting next to me right now in his plaid pajama pants! so i can’t leave my store out of the action – we got in these new plaid bags (shown above) even cooler? they’re one of a kind!! once they’re gone, they’re gone!

thanks everyone for your comments on my last post…i think i’m getting my groove back on!

as promised, here are some more photos from the photo shoot we did. marcus & i just wandered over to our neighborhood park (it was a beautiful fall day…which to me means it’s still warm out!) it was just about as i put the final acorn down on the image i was creating to say “wild” that we were visited by one of our fave dogs…who also happens to be a tornado of destruction! oh dylan, you’re lucky you’re cute!

{fave things for fall}

those of you who have gotten to know me over the past year or so know that i’m not a huge fan of fall (trust me, i know, i’m like the only person who’s not a big fan – i think i need to start a club for those few of us!) ok, let me clarify – i like fall just fine – it’s just that it’s a giant reminder that winter is right around the corner and, oh boy, i am not a winter gal! (we’ll save another post for why we live in cleveland then!)

so instead of getting gloomy, i thought i’d share my list of favorite fall things that i just put on the OSR inspiration page (tops of my list is definitely ‘spiked’ apple cider & corn mazes – if you haven’t done one, you’ve gotta try it – lots of fun!)

{one year ago…}

UPDATE: you all are making my day – thanks for all the lovely comments!!!! just to clarify – this is just the one year anniv of when i quit my job – OSR’s bday is coming up – NOV 1st!!

i took the leap and quit my job to give this dream thing a shot!! can you guys believe it’s been a year?? i’ve got to say it’s definitely like jumping off a cliff – into the unknown. it’s been an amazing ride so far…full of excitement, anxiety, fear, ups & downs, celebrations, and lots and lots of learning (especially learning how to deal with the fear & stress!!) yet, i wouldn’t trade it in for anything else!

next up: NOV. 1 – we’ll be celebrating the store’s 1 year birthday – big plans in store for that (which is why i’ve been a bit quiet here on the blog – hard at work on this surprise – so stay tuned – you won’t want to miss it!!

so here’s to taking the leap…and discovering what’s waiting for you!
