{makes me want to} stop + smell the peonies!

it’s friday – we made it!!  it’s starting to feel like spring around here – even got to open the windows this week (happy dance, oh yeah!)  and even better, flowers are making an appearance and trees are budding.  it’s all reminding me to take a moment to stop and smell the flowers and enjoy spring!

may is just around the corner…and you know what that means…a new song of the month and theme for one sydney road!! what will it be??  you’ll just have to stop back on monday to find out.

{12 days of christmas}


i’ve had a ball participating in aspiring splendor’s 12 days of christmas blogger gift exchange – bascially a secret santa gift exchange where 12 bloggers send gifts to one another that suit their personality based on their blog. um, getting gifts in the mail? sign me up!!

helena from a diary of lovely sent me this gorgeous string of pearls terrarium – i’ve already found the perfect spot for it! thank you helena – i couldn’t have asked for a lovelier gift!!

{got flowers?}

cool flower arrangements

happy monday everyone! did you have a good weekend? i’m still fighting this cold…worst timing, right?! i was able to squeeze in a little r+r but i’m pretty sure i could use a lot more!! so this morning i’m feeling in need of a good dose of pretty! i’m still waiting (on pins + needles!!) to find out from the web designer my official opening date. which means…get ready for more sneak peeks this week!

not sure if it’s that we’re fully into fall now but i can’t stop collecting images of flowers. any of these gorgeous arrangements would be welcome in my home (grin) – in fact, i’m thinking a little vase of pretty posies is just what i need to start the week off on a good note!

how’s your week going?  we’re almost at friday (yay!).  so, did i ever tell you that one of my dreams (and it’s exactly that – just a nice, lovely fantasy) is to have fresh flowers in my home every week.  actually, if i’m really dreaming here…it’s to have fresh flowers in every room of my house!  until then, i can make do with occasionally having fresh flowers and obsessing over beautiful, modern floral arrangements like these from the german magazine wohn idee.  warning though – you may spend hours (like i did…yikes!) searching through all the lovely pictures!
